D Series Storage

NEC's D-Series SAN Storage arrays provide highly available and easily scalable storage for your SAN without sacrificing performance and flexibility.

They include high-end features you won't find on other mid-range arrays, but at a lower cost than other systems. There are four models:

Superior Dependability

Self healing reduces HDD failures by 30-50% and decreases the number of RAID rebuilds by fixing hard drives before they fail
Catches silent data corruption of both SAS and SATA drives that is not detected by other systems
Background disk & cache scrubbing prevents applications from receiving corrupt data

Wide Scalability

Expand RAID groups non-disruptively adding HDDs one-byone or many at a time to a maximum of 144 HDDs
Grow LUNs online

High Efficiency

Power off RAID groups when not in use to save energy
Browser-based GUI allows remote management of up to 32 arrays in a ‘single pane of glass’
Scale-up architecture saves you money as you grow when compared to a scale-out architecture. (In typical scale-out architectures, each node is more costly than a D3i disk enclosure: that means more costly growth.)

Also including a complete array management suite for businesses of all sizes that includes snapshots, replication, performance management, multipathing, failover, compliance, energy conservation, and more.

FT (Fault Tolerant) Servers

NEC Fault Tolerant (FT) servers provide an innovative solution to address planned and unplanned downtime for your most important applications.

The Express5800/300 series servers deliver continuous uptime through its fully redundant modular hardware featuring Quad-Core and 6-Core Intel® Xeon® processors.

Up to 99.999% Uptime for applications that simply can’t be down
Virtualization fault tolerance in hardware
Each virtual machine’s performance scales to meet the needs of its applications
No transaction/data loss, even when an enclosure is removed
Standard VM deployment with two physical servers, the FT server presents only one logical server, requiring only a single operating system / hypervisor instance

These servers provide continuous availability through hardware redundancy in all components: CPU, memory, motherboards, I/O, hard disk drives, and cooling fans.
